概要	本研究は、大地溝帯に位置するケニアをモデルケースとして、地熱資源の探査・開発・利用それぞれの段階で発生が予想される問題についてその解決手法を研究開発し、最適な開発を促進するとともに、これらの研究開発を通じて若い技術者・研究者を育成し、ケニアと周辺諸国の地熱エネルギーの有効利用が促進されることを目的とする。探査段階においては、精密重力探査や地磁気地電流法に加えて、受動的微小地震探査やＡＩによる地下温度推定などの新技術を組み合わせたハイブリッド物理探査を実施し、これに地質・地化学調査の結果も含めて地理情報システム（ＧＩＳ）に統合し、大地溝帯に特有の地熱系の構造を明らかにする。開発段階においては、地域住民の地熱発電や直接利用などに対する意識調査を実施し、社会受容性を高める方法や事業を立案する。利用段階においては、日本と異なるケニアの地熱系に特徴的なアルカリ性の熱水で発生するスケール対策の手法を確立する。
