東南アジア海域における海洋プラスチック汚染研究の拠点形成

概要	本研究は、海洋プラスチック汚染に関する調査・研究拠点をタイに構築し、海洋プラスチックごみ軽減のための行動計画をタイ政府に提案することを目的とする。まずサッタヒープ郡において、プラスチックごみの発生量解析や現存量調査、環境影響評価、そして将来予測を集中的に行う。この結果を踏まえた行動計画を策定し、地域のポリシーメーカーや多様なステークホルダーと共に、プラスチックごみ発生量の削減を実現させる。続いて、特定地域の成果をエビデンスとして、対象をタイ全域に拡張した行動計画をタイ政府に提言する。本研究で形成されたプラスチックごみの調査・研究拠点は、本研究期間終了後も、持続的なごみ削減のために行動計画の強化・更新を行う上で、科学的根拠を与える司令塔となることが期待される。また、タイにおける取り組みや社会実装をもとにASEAN域内にロールモデルを波及させ、域内での海洋プラスチックごみの削減を目指す。
