ナイルの源流エチオピア・タナ湖で過剰繁茂する水草バイオマスの管理手法と有効利用プロセスの確立

概要	本研究は、エチオピア・タナ湖で過剰繁茂する水草（ホテイアオイ）バイオマスの管理手法と有効利用方法の確立を目指す。具体的には、①リモートセンシングとＡＩ技術を使ったモニタリングによりバイオマス推定と分布拡大をモデル化し、持続可能な最適刈取法を決定する、②回収した水草を固液分離し、液分から高速メタン発酵処理によりバイオガスと栄養分を回収し、固形分から炭化物（バイオ炭）の製炭技術を開発する、③清澄化したメタン発酵残渣物（消化液）を使った微細藻類（スピルリナ）の生産法、バイオ炭と消化液を使った土壌改良と農作物増収法を確立するとともに、④栄養ニーズに合ったスピルリナ由来の栄養改善食品を開発し、国際認証による食の安全・品質を担保し、国内外での販売基盤整備を行う。本事業は、漁村崩壊や生態系破壊の原因であるホテイアオイバイオマスの適正管理を行い、有効的に資源化することで、エチオピアの経済と栄養改善に貢献する。
