気象災害に脆弱な人口密集地域のための数値天気予報と防災情報提供システムのプロジェクト

概要	本研究は、「京」コンピューターで培った最先端のシミュレーション技術やデータサイエンスを駆使して、豪雨・都市型洪水の防災のためのトータルパッケージを開発し、アルゼンチンの大都市域ブエノスアイレスおよびコルドバで社会実装を目指す。現象のメカニズムを解明して予測を向上する他、防災情報提供システム、サイレン、危機管理当局および住民への教育啓蒙など、情報を防災に生かすためのハードからソフトまでを広くカバーし、地球規模の豪雨洪水防災の礎を築く。気象レーダーや人工衛星データを使って降水量をモニタリングし、「京」コンピューターで培った世界随一の「ビッグデータ同化」技術による予測システムを構築して、実運用する。情報活用のため、配信システムを開発整備するとともに、情報の受け手である危機管理当局や住民への教育啓蒙を進め、実効的な防災の実現を図る。このトータルパッケージは、アルゼンチンでの実用化を経て、幅広い国際展開が期待される。
